Our current unit is length and perimeter. We are learning how to compare equivalent units of length. We are using our knowledge of multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1000 to do this. We will then be calculating perimeters of rectilinear shapes.
We began this term with multiplication and division. We built on our recall of tables from last term to can now use written methods to multiply and divide.
Autumn term
We started this term by learning about place value to 5 digits. We are now able to identify the value of given digits, compare using symbols and to order numbers in different ways.
We were able to use this knowledge to add and subtract larger numbers using mental and written methods.
Next we learned what area is and how to efficiently count squares to find areas.
Our next unit was multiplication and division. We learned ways we can use tables facts we know, to quickly calculate other tables facts. We worked hard to learn all of our tables and we can now recall lots more tables facts. We learned strategies to quickly work out any we cannot yet recall.
Learning our multiplications!
We love to sing times table songs- Sing-a-long too!
