This half term we are:

 

Going to Space!! Well, the moon! We are learning about the first man on the moon in our topic lessons.

We have been coming up with lots of questions about space, ready for the Space Dome!

We have been measuring, counting, running, reading, drumming, typing, painting... We have been busy bees!!

We have been doing drama ...

We can use and make 3d shapes

Reminder:

 

PE kits should be in school on Wednesday and Thursday. On Thursday we go outside. Make sure your child has a suitable PE kit (tracksuit bottoms and a jumper or hoodie if possible).

 

Book bags should come to school everyday. We take every opportunity we can to read with the children, so they must have their books in school.

 

Homework is due in on Fridays (every week for maths and every other for literacy). We have a 'homework tray' for them to put it in.

We have been really busy in Year One!!

We have been doing maths outside. We used bean bags to help us. We wrote our sums with chalk on the floor. We have been sorting shapes. We have been working together to solve problems. Counting Cubes!! Adding up the spots on dominoes!! Even when it's been raining... ...we can do our maths outside!! We have been looking at China, and we made... Terracotta Warriors!! We have been designing superheroes too!!
