Summer Term

Our History topic for this term is "The History of Toys" where we aim to answer the question "What can toys tell us about history?"

We are continuing our topic this half term by comparing the toys that rich and poor children played with during the Victorian times. We will then move on to thinking about cause and effect by discussing how the war changed toys for children and how electricity and the invention of batteries changed toys. Finally, we will start collating all of our learning together ready to present our Toys Museum in the last week of term.

We will aim to make links with other subjects throughout all of our units. For example in our citizenship unit of our Enterprise Project we will make some links to our maths learning on statistics to conduct our market research as well as some links to art when designing our keyrings to sell. In DT we will make some links to science when planning and making our healthy salads.

Spring Term

Our history unit for this term is "The Great Fire of London". This term the children will be consolidating all their learning about the Great Fire of London ready to present their findings in an exciting museum experience.

We have just finished our learning about the timeline of the Great Fire of London- the events of the fire and how where it fits in a timeline from dinosaurs to now.
