Summer Term

Our History topic for this term is "The History of Toys" where we aim to answer the question "What can toys tell us about history?"

We are starting our topic this half term by inviting children to bring in a toy of their choice from home (no electronics or games consoles please) so that we can explore a range of toys and get excited for our new topic. We will then be looking at sequencing some toys through different time periods such as the Victorian times and thinking about what toys would be played with during the eras we have already learnt about such as the great fire of London. We will then move onto looking at sources to find out about real toys from Victorian and World War II as well as finding out about toys from some very exciting "visitors".

Spring Term

Our history unit for this term is "The Great Fire of London". This term the children will be consolidating all their learning about the Great Fire of London ready to present their findings in an exciting museum experience.

We have just finished our learning about the timeline of the Great Fire of London- the events of the fire and how where it fits in a timeline from dinosaurs to now.
