Summer term maths

This term we will be counting in jumps of 2, 5 and 10, then we will share objects into equal groups of 2, 5 or 10 to introduce us to multiplication and division.

We will look at 1/2 and 1/4 of a shape or number, using playdough to divide shapes into halves and quarters.

We will give directions using position language such as above, below, left, right, forwards, backwards.

We will look at numbers up to 100, starting to understand the value of tens and ones, using Dienes to recognise 1 cubes and 10 sticks.

We will recognise and count money.

We will learn about time: days, months, and telling the time to the hour and 1/2 hour, using analogue and digital clocks.

We will finish the year by revising all our learning so we are ready for Year 2!
