Our Class Reading Books...

During the Summer term 2M we are reading "The World's Worst Pets" by David Walliams.

Marvel at Houdini, the magician’s rabbit. Take a trip around the world with Zoom, the supersonic tortoise. Gasp at the chaos created by Griselda, a grizzly bear with a big secret. And RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! It’s Furp, the monstrous goldfish!

Good pets, bad pets, supervillain pets, pets as big as a house and pets that could eat you in one gulp – these are the most hilarious and horrendous animals around.

In 2MD this summer term we are currently reading "Little Kids First Big Book of Animals" by Catherine D. Hughes

Polar bears, penguins, lions, giraffes, seahorses, frogs, butterflies and much more! These fun-filled pages introduce young readers to more than 30 animals and their exciting lives in the wild.

Inside you'll find:

  • More than 200 incredible animal photos and fun facts
  • Questions in each chapter to encourage interactivity
  • A world map introducing children to geography
  • Parent tips that extend the experience beyond the pages of this book
  • And more!

In year two we also use lots of other different reading materials to support us with our learning.

This term:

In science we will be using books about plants and food chains.

In PE we will use some books about our body and how it works when we exercise.

In history we will use some books about toys throughout history.

We also use articles on Lyfta for a range of different lessons.
