In 4B, we are reading the BFG.
In History we have been using online articles to learn about the history of Thurrock.
Last term:
This story is set on the Isle of Berk and in the village that is home to the Hairy Hooligans Gang. We follow the life of Hiccup, son of the village chief, who is trying to live up to his father's reputation. Hiccup must pass the gang's initiation and capture and then train his very own dragon!! Things don't go to plan though and he ends up with a dragon that isn't exactly what he was hoping for!
We have really enjoyed looking at the map at the front of the book which has helped us to imagine we really are in the world of dragons!!
Geography
In our geography we have been using the atlas' to look at maps but also for additional information sections at the beginning. We used them to find out more information about mountains and how the height of the land changes.
Three Inventors
This book has been used throughout our biographers unit as a different way to learn about famous inventors. We read short biographies through comic strip illustrations.
