There are some interesting homework tasks too that I will be putting up on display.

Our first three weeks of English involved us looking at adventure stories and writing our own. We used the story of The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe to inspire us. The next 3 weeks involved us looking at biographies. We researched the author Roald Dahl and learnt lots of facts about him. This helped us to write our own biographies.

After half term we will be looking at poems and newspapers. We will identify the features of each one and use this knowledge to help us write our own.

In maths we have been learning addition and subtraction techniques. We will be applying our knowledge to real life situations. We have also been learning how to use our times tables to solve multiplication and division problems. Next we will be learning how to tell the time in both analogue and Roman Numerals.

There will be lots of learning taking place over this term so stay tuned for photos and more information about what class 3C have been learning.

Chance to Dance

We were lucky enough to watch an introduction to ballet at the Thamseside Theatre. There were many opportunities for the children to join the professional ballet dancers on stage.

Following this introduction, the children will participate and enjoy dance through demonstrations and practical workshops within their indoor PE lessons.

HELPFUL WORDS FOR YEAR 3

Here is a word list of the tricky words that we need to know by the end of Year 3. See if you can learn them and use them in your writing. I will give you Dojo's for spelling them correctly!

Just a couple of friendly reminders:

*Please remember to bring your book bags to school everyday. This way, we can ensure that you are reading both at home and at school. Remember the more we read the more 'leaves' we earn!!

*Please remember to bring your P.E. kits to school. We have indoor P.E. on Wednesday afternoons and outdoor P.E. on Thursday afternoons. Don't forget to bring something warm to wear for outdoor P.E.
