SCIENCE WEEK
This week was science week and we have another fun packed learning week! We were visited by a geologist, met a range of wonderful animals and completed lots of science activities in class.
We took part in a Latin American music workshop. It was great fun and we all played a range of different instruments including agora bells, tambourines, shakers and surdo drums and created a whole class piece.
Book week!
We all really enjoyed National Book Week. We were very lucky to visit the local library, take part in lots of different book activities, complete an activity with Mrs Downes, dress up as our favourite book characters and be visited by a real author!
Dress up day!

Our library visit
Welcome to the Spring term. This term our topic is AROUND THE WORLD IN 50 DAYS!
This term we will be travelling around the World and learning all about the it and how to use atlases.
So far, we have learned about, and located using atlases, the equator, tropic of Cancer, tropical of Capricorn, the seven continents and oceans around the World. Not only this, we have learned about longitude and latitude and different time zones around the World. We have learned the countries of the UK and how where we live in England is split into regions, counties, cities and towns. Following on from our learning on the UK we have now moved on to look at other countries in Europe. As you can see we have already learned so much on our topic and we are looking forward to learning more this term!
Watt Tyler Trip
We had a fantastic time at our trip to Watt Tyler Country Park. Working together we managed to complete lots of fun group activities, the highlight of which being trying to protect our eggs from cracking! We learned how to use a compass and all successfully managed to find our way back following the instructions we had and our compass learning. It was great fun!
We all had great fun during National Storytelling Week. Not only did we take part in a fantastic workshop where we all became storytellers, we were able to share lots of storytelling in class and with children from other classes. The week ended with us visiting our school library. Not long until more fun book activities in Book Week!
We still have Book Week, World Book Day and the book fair to look forward to this term! Visit the sites below to find out some more about different authors and books.
