World Water Day

We wrote on drops how we can save water.

We then finger painted our drops using blue and white.

We had to think carefully about whether or not we NEEDED to wash our hands.

And what would people do if they have didn't have access to water like we do?

Science

In Year 3, we LOVE books!! Look at our costumes for World Book Day!

Climate Change

Have a look at our beautiful sea turtles, made out of recycling materials.

We have been learning about climate change, the impact of pollution and more.

Art

In art we have been experimenting with creating detailed drawings of leaves.

We have explored how to create shape, shade, tone and texture through sketching some leaves.

We then moved on to experimenting with mixing and blending colour to create a colourful leaf display for out classroom windows!

In Art, we also created our own printing blocks based on leaves.

Climate Change Project and Recycling

We collected materials.

We chose what we would need to join them together.

We worked as teams.

English

In English we have been exploring newspaper reports. As part of our learning, we researched the city of Pompeii and the volcanic eruption that took place there in 79 AD. We then based our newspaper reports on the event.

In English we have been exploring how stories are made up of 5 different parts.

Ending.

We then explored how a chapter can be broken into key events.

We looked at chapter 3 of Fantastic Mr Fox and made a story map that retells the key events of this part of the story.

In English we have been trying to find direct speech.

This term we have been learning about rocks and fossils. We were very excited to make our own replica of fossils using clay.

Carol Service - We visited Belhus Chapel for their yearly Carol Service.

Some of us got to act. We were kings.

Some of us brought gifts to Jesus.

Geography - Learning About The UK - We Went For A Walk In The Local Area

This is our bear.

We took him for a walk in our local area.

He found out where lots of places are and how close they are to school.

It was very busy here.

He finally learned where the 'big' shops are.

Art - We developed our skills from Year 2 when sketching. Can you tell who we drew?

English - We learned about different types of shape poems. Here are our triangle shaped poems.

Outdoor PE: We are learning to play invasion games.

English - We have moved on to looking at recounts. We worked in teams to sequence events in time order.

We're working on passing the ball during our PE lessons.
