Autumn
In Art we have been learning about different North American artists and exploring the different forms of media they have used. Here are some examples of some of the art pieces the children have created throughout the unit.
In Geography we have been learning about North America. Part of our learning included us comparing a European festival to a North American one. Here is an example of that comparison.
In Science we have been learning about the human body and how the body develops as we age. At the end of the unit we created a poster showing all we had learned.
In Citizenship we have been exploring communication, self-respect, stereotyping and families. At the end of the unit we made a poster showing how to maintain a good friendship.
In music we have been learning the theme song from the TV show Fresh Prince of Bel Air. We not only learned to sing the song but also play it on the glockenspiels
In Computing we have been learning about search engines and websites. We were even the task to improve a website ourselves on the computers which we did.
In Outdoor PE we have been learning about orienteering, this involves using compasses and map reading to navigate distances. To further understand the directions on the compass we drew them out on the playground.
In Indoor PE we have bee learning gymnastics, this involves performing jumps, rolls, cartwheels and even handstands.
In English we have been reading the book Goth Girl by Chris Riddell. In order to write our own chapter for Goth Girl we made up our own characters to write into the story. We drew them in our English books.
In Maths we have been working on our adding and subtracting, part of this involved adding whole numbers.
In French we have been learning basic greetings and phrases.
